DEFIBRILLATION - LIVE SHOW AT MAUDI

In 2022, after an extended period without live performances in Georgia, Quemmekh began rethinking how its music could exist within the country’s club scene. Faced with a lack of suitable venues for their usual live setup, the collective reworked its sound, pushing it further towards electronic music and adapting its performance to a two-member lineup.

To test this new direction, Quemmekh organised a private live show at Maudi, an exhibition space in Tbilisi, titled Defibrillation. The title reflected the concept behind the performance: an attempt to restart the collective’s live presence and inject new energy into its music through an intensified electronic sound and a stripped-down format.

The concept later took on a life of its own when Quemmekh released a track titled Defibrillation, which has since become a fan favourite. What began as an experimental live performance thus evolved into a lasting part of the collective’s musical identity.
